1 in every 3 employers has admitted to not being in favour of hiring transgender individuals

Despite most transgender individuals shielding their identity from employers when they are backed into a corner and they have to, half the time they wont get the job. According to surveys conducted by Crossland Employment Solicitors the sectors and what percent of them would not hire a transgender person are as follows; 47% of retail businesses, 45% IT, 35% leisure and hospitality with some of the highest figures. The ones more open to the idea were, financial service industries at 34%, 33% with the legal sector and 25% of construction and engineering would be open to hiring a non binary gender individual.
This was from a poll of 1000 employers, in the United Kingdom and from that number only about 30 have regulations in place to treat transgender individuals equally in the hiring process. One third of the 1000 employers that would hire a transgender person about 8% have said that they wouldn't give them the same rights as other employees. And only 4% have labelled their work place culture open enough to let transgender people blend into it.

A study by Stonewall also suggested that transgender individuals hide their identity at work with proof of an astounding 74% of employers had said they hadn't had any experience with hiring a transgenders implying that the transgender individuals hadn't come out to them.
